An American classic inside and out

Ingot

Nothing relaxed the hard-working young businessman more than hopping aboard his little weekender with his family. Just venturing out across America’s lakes and rivers. As he rose through the ranks, the voyages grew longer and the family boats larger.

When his kids had become adults with careers and had settled down in various parts of the country, he decided to approach Vripack and ask them to design a family home on water. Ingot was to be the private venue for the extended family’s periodical get-togethers. Swap their stories, catch up on each other’s lives, laugh, cry, and bask in the warmth of familial love.

LARGEST ALUMINIUM YACHT

Ingot was to be built at the shipyard of the near 150-year-old Burger Boat Company in Wisconsin. A firm whose uncompromising commitment to perfection was shared by both Vripack and the new client. Burger Boat is one of the country’s oldest and most respected custom-made luxury yacht builders. In addition, considered a cornerstone of the American yachting industry. Ingot was to be the largest luxury yacht they’d ever built, and the largest aluminium yacht ever built in America at that time.

The only fitting response to the brief was to deliver an instant classic. And thus was born Ingot, a global voyager with an interior classically bedecked in warm mahogany and burl. The elegant stateliness embraces you as you take in the yacht’s neoclassical interior. This includes everything from traditionally designed book-matched, raised panel Honduras mahogany and custom-built mahogany pillars (104 of them, no less), to the rare marble, granite and onyx surfaces in the on-suite bathrooms. Fabrics and upholstery are lush and inviting, the mother-of-pearl mosaics beautifully iridescent. It’s an interior that exudes endless dignity and sophistication.

CONTEMPORARY DESIGN

The eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary design elements create interesting contrasts. Contrasts which are echoed in a color scheme that plays off light against dark. Contrasts in the juxtaposition of lush textures and smooth, polished surfaces. And last but not least in the counterpoint of patterned material and plain. She breathes perfection in every detail of her 467m² interior accommodation and 386m² exterior deck and leisure space.
